Why Does an Osteopath Do Anti-Wrinkle? Nurse Bina Explains Sam's Approach in Brentwood

One question our team hears a lot is why Sam, our osteopath, carries out anti-wrinkle treatments. It is a fair question, so we asked Bina, one of our nurses, to explain. In this article you will learn what an osteopath's training involves, why understanding muscles matters for anti-wrinkle treatment, and what happens at your first appointment.

Bina appears in real video filmed at our clinic; her voice in this video is AI-generated and lip-synced, made with her consent. The treatment footage is real, shows Sam treating, and was filmed with consent.

Bina's explanation in brief

Bina is a UK-registered nurse (NMC) at 65Beauty. In the video she explains that Sam qualified as an osteopath in 2019, and that her whole training is built on anatomy: where muscles attach, how they move and how they pull on the skin. Because anti-wrinkle treatment works by relaxing specific facial muscles, knowing exactly where each one sits really matters.

What does an osteopath's training involve?

Osteopaths study the musculoskeletal system in depth: bones, joints, muscles and the way they work together. Day to day, Sam assesses how muscles move and where they create tension, then treats with her hands. That training gives her a detailed, practical understanding of anatomy that carries over into the face.

At 65Beauty, Sam works as our osteopath and also carries out anti-wrinkle treatments and skin boosters. She is not a nurse, and she would be the first to tell you so. What she brings is a deep, everyday familiarity with how muscles behave.

Why muscles matter in anti-wrinkle treatment

Many expression lines, such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet, form where facial muscles contract again and again. Anti-wrinkle treatment works by relaxing specific muscles so the lines on top can soften.

That makes placement important. Each muscle has its own shape, depth and direction of pull, and these vary from face to face. A practitioner who thinks in terms of muscles, rather than just lines, can plan treatment around how your face actually moves. The aim is a softer, fresher look that still looks like you.

What happens at your appointment

Every treatment starts with a consultation. We will ask about your medical history, any medications and what you would like to change. Your practitioner will watch how your face moves, explain what is realistic and check that treatment is suitable for you.

If you go ahead, your skin is cleansed and the treatment areas are mapped. The injections themselves use a very fine needle and usually take only a few minutes. You will be given clear aftercare advice before you leave.

Who it may suit

Anti-wrinkle treatment may be considered by adults who would like to soften expression lines. It is not right for everyone. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain medical conditions and some medications can all affect suitability, which is why the consultation always comes first.

Common questions

Is Sam a nurse?

No. Sam is an osteopath. Our clinic is nurse-led, and Sam's anti-wrinkle work sits within that clinical setting.

Will I still look like me?

That is the aim. Treatment is planned around how your face moves, so expression can soften rather than disappear. Results vary from person to person.

How quickly will I see a difference?

Changes usually build gradually over the following days rather than appearing straight away. Your practitioner will explain what to expect.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. Every treatment at 65Beauty starts with a consultation and a review of your medical history.
