Thinking About Thread Lifts in Brentwood? Why the Consultation Comes First
If thread lifts have been on your mind, you probably have plenty of questions. This article focuses on the step that comes before any decision: the face-to-face consultation at 65Beauty, what it covers, and how it helps you decide whether a thread lift is right for you.
Start with a conversation, not a commitment
In our video, the 65Beauty team puts it simply: if thread lifts have been on your mind, now is the time to take the first step, and that step is a face-to-face consultation. A consultation is not a booking for treatment. It is a chance to sit down with our nurse-led team at 39 Kings Road, Brentwood, talk through your questions, and understand the appropriate next steps for you before anything is decided.
We take this approach with every treatment, but it matters particularly with thread lifts, because suitability depends on your individual face, skin and medical history.
What is a thread lift?
A thread lift is a non-surgical aesthetic procedure in which fine threads are placed beneath the skin using a needle or cannula, with the aim of lifting and supporting areas of the face. It is carried out under local anaesthetic in a clinic setting rather than an operating theatre.
That is the general picture. Which areas might be considered, what type of threads might be used and what you could realistically expect all depend on your assessment. Results vary, and a thread lift is not right for everyone. Your practitioner will explain the details that apply to you at your consultation, rather than relying on general information online.
What happens at your consultation
Your consultation is unhurried and focused on you. Our team will usually:
Ask what has brought you in and what you would like to change
Look at your face, skin quality and areas of concern
Take a medical history, including any medicines, allergies and previous treatments
Explain whether a thread lift is suitable, or whether another option, or no treatment at all, may be more appropriate
Talk through the procedure, possible side effects and aftercare, so you have a clear picture
Give you time to ask questions and think things over
You do not need to make a decision on the day. If thread lifts are not suitable for you, we will tell you honestly. Treatment is for adults aged 18 and over.
Questions worth asking
It can help to write down your questions before you arrive. You might want to ask:
Am I a suitable candidate, and why?
What could I realistically expect for my face?
What are the possible side effects and how common are they?
What will my recovery and aftercare look like?
Who will carry out the procedure, and what are their qualifications?
A good consultation should leave you feeling informed rather than rushed. Our nurse-led team at 65Beauty, a CQC-registered clinic, is happy to go through each of these with you.
After a thread lift
Like any procedure involving needles, a thread lift can cause short-lived effects such as swelling, bruising, tenderness or a feeling of tightness. How you feel afterwards varies from person to person. Your practitioner will talk you through aftercare in detail at your consultation and before you leave on the day, and you can contact the clinic if you have any concerns.
Common questions
Do I have to book treatment at my consultation?
No. The consultation is there to help you decide. Many people go away and think about it before booking anything.
Is a thread lift the same as a facelift?
No. A thread lift is a non-surgical procedure, while a facelift is surgery. They are different procedures with different considerations, and your practitioner can explain how they compare for you.
Will I be suitable?
That depends on your face, skin and medical history. Your practitioner will check suitability at a consultation and will explain if another approach may suit you better.
Who will I see?
Consultations at 65Beauty are carried out by our nurse-led clinical team, who will assess you face to face.
